Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has been selected by leading operator CTM (Companhia de Telecomunicações de Macau S.A.R.L.) to be the end-to-end integrator of indoor coverage to the largest single structure hotel in Asia and the second largest building in the world, The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel.

With responsibility for end-to-end solution design, deployment and integration services, Ericsson's turnkey in-building solution will enable high-quality, seamless coverage across 2G and 3G networks for both commercial GSM/EDGE/WCDMA and CDMA. It also supports professional users with TETRA coverage.

At 10.5 million square feet, The Venetian Macao is big enough to hold 90 Boeing 747 jumbo jets. The hotel offers 3,000 all-suite guest rooms and with one million square feet of retail space, 1.2 million square feet of meeting, convention and exhibition space, and the 15,000-seat Venetian Arena.

As the hotel is the venue for the Mobile Asia Congress (November 12-15), Ericsson's solution will also be the telecommunications backbone for all event participants and exhibitors.

Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM, says: "We chose Ericsson because of its leading-edge wireless broadband indoor coverage technology and innovative solutions, along with its rich rollout experience. This deal extends our long-running partnership and emphasizes our shared commitment to providing high-quality seamless communications in Macao."

Johan Adler, President of Ericsson Hong Kong and Macau, says: "The Venetian Macao is already a landmark building and is now set to become a landmark for wireless in-building solutions. We are thrilled to partner with CTM and provide our world-leading in-building solution for this prestigious project."
