The contract includes the delivery, installation, systems integration and adaptation of existing sites as well as the technical launch of the network. Deliveries of the equipment for this nationwide network started at the beginning of March, with Ericsson as sole supplier for Mexico City and other large cities.

The contract further confirms Ericsson's strong relationship with Telefónica Móviles and Ericsson's position as leading supplier of mobile networks in the world. Ericsson has an approximately 40 per cent market share in both GSM and WCDMA networks globally.
