Ericsson signs IMS agreement with SPT in Vietnam

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) announced today its agreement with Vietnamese operator Saigon Postel Telecommunication Company (SPT) to build a nationwide IMS-based multimedia network in Vietnam, including Ericsson's Telephony Softswitch.
 


Pham Ngoc Tuan, SPT President says the company's plan is to take advantage of new technology to stay ahead of competition in providing telecom quality IP multimedia services in the most cost-efficient way.


"We find Ericsson's IMS solution suitable for our current and future requirements in evolving SPT network to all IP, providing us a good platform for efficient introduction of new multimedia services such as voice, data, audio and video," he says.


Eddie Åhman, General Manager, Ericsson Vietnam says: "Ericsson is proud to be chosen once again to build SPT multimedia network. This agreement is yet another demonstration of our commitment and capabilities in helping our customer achieve sustained business growth and stay competitive into the future."
