transparently between GSM and TDMA networks using a single handset.

Acting as the network's Interworking and Interoperability Function (IIF) node,
the JAMBALA Mobility Gateway will help Cingular Wireless provide subscribers
with advanced calling features, two-way short messaging service (SMS) and
mobile Internet services anywhere in the network - regardless of which
technology the subscriber is using.

"Ericsson's JAMBALA Mobility Gateway bridges technically diverse networks,
helping Cingular Wireless provide its customers with broad coverage and
increased access to Cingular's nationwide network," said Anders Olin,

Team. "We are very pleased to be providing this core functionality as Cingular
transitions to a nationwide high-speed third generation network."
