REACH has selected Ericsson Telephony Softswitch - EIN 3.1 solution in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the US to upgrade its international wireline network. The leading solution went live in REACH's network recently, the first stage of its international Next Generation Network project.
Under the agreement, Ericsson delivered its Telephony Softswitch solution on EIN 3.1 using IP packet backbone, which will allow REACH to achieve significant savings in operating expenditures.

Basil Kypriadakis, Director, REACH Customer Network Services, says: "For us it's crucial to be able to offer our customers the most advanced services in a converged, cost-efficient environment. In our long partnership, Ericsson has provided us with the solutions that allow us to meet our customer's expectations for service quality."

Peter Linder, Wireline Technical Director, Ericsson, says: "We have a long relationship that started back in 1982, with AXE. Now we are happy to be REACH's partner for its migration towards an all-IP network with our Telephony Softswitch solution."

Ericsson Telephony Softswitch solution provides REACH with a secure migration path along which to evolve to a multi-service network. It is capable of carrying large and growing volumes of voice and data traffic and enables traditional fixed telephony and IP-based broadband traffic to run on a single network.
