Ericsson to expand AIS network in Thailand Ericsson has won a further GSM network expansion order from AIS in Thailand. The order is worth USD 60 million, and brings the total value of orders from AIS to Ericsson to more than USD 220 million this year. The order covers network infrastructure and service solutions for AIS' GSM900 network as well as the AIS-owned GSM1800 network, which operates under the name Digital Phone Company (DPC). Advanced Information Services (AIS) is the fastest growing mobile operator in Thailand, having more than doubled their number of subscribers during the past 12 months, to more than three and a half million currently. DPC, with 280,000 users, is the third largest mobile operator in Thailand.
