Ericsson to integrate, host and manage push e-mail service for Telemar/Oi

Ericsson has won a deal with Oi, the first GSM operator in Brazil, to provide its Ericsson Mobile Organizer (EMO) solution, breaking new ground for mobile data services. Oi will become the first operator in Brazil to introduce Ericsson's push e-mail solution as part of its services for enterprise customers and end users.
Under the agreement Ericsson will be responsible for end-to-end system integration as well as hosting the service under a managed services contract.

EMO offers easy-to-use access to e-mails, calendar updates and meeting requests that are automatically delivered to the user via the mobile network, without the user having to take any action to receive them. This makes it simple and convenient for mobile users to keep up to date with their e-mail and schedules.


Ericsson will also be responsible for the day-to-day hosting of the push -e-mail service under the managed services agreement. Hosting will allow the operator to achieve get new services to market cheaply, quickly and easily.  


Ericsson's managed services hosting offering includes applications and enablers, as well as content such as music, entertainment and games provided by Ericsson's content partners. Ericsson takes on responsibility for integration, round-the-clock operation and maintenance through regional operation centers.
