During its CTIA media briefing, (11 a.m., Thursday, April 6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center Room 262), Ericsson President and Chief Executive Officer Carl-Henric Svanberg will discuss Ericsson's renewed commitment to the wireline market, its vision for true convergence and its industry leading approach to managed services and hosting partnerships.

"CTIA is truly the main event in North America for Ericsson to demonstrate our commitment to our strategic business partnerships with operators," said Angel Ruiz, president and chief executive officer of Ericsson's North American operations. "We look to this show as an opportunity and a time for sharing how our global experience as a prime integrator of networks, applications and services can help our customers create more revenues while remaining cost efficient in their operations."

Ericsson also will present a range of technology demonstrations at its stand on the show floor (#2624):

Industry's first HSDPA/MIMO technology test bed: Ericsson is performing the world's first HSDPA demonstration with Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology.  As configured - with two MIMO transmit and receive channels and antennae - MIMO doubles peak HSDPA speeds to up to 28 Mbps.

Commercial HSDPA and HSUPA services: Ericsson will demonstrate its commercial HSDPA system supporting speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps with pre-commercial handsets from several vendors. The support for HSDPA at 14.4 Mbps and enhanced uplink, HSUPA, will be available in the second half of 2006.

IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) demonstrations: As the IMS leader, Ericsson will demonstrate how operators can create revenue streams and increase cost efficiency by introducing IMS-based applications. Featured demonstrations will include solutions for the medical and insurance industries, which showcase IMS deployments between fixed and mobile services and seamless mobility solutions.

Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) solutions: Ericsson will demonstrate its MVNO dashboard, which illustrates a single point for MVNOs to view platform reports and service level indicators.  Ericsson can provide MVNOs with a complete business solution, including advisory services, hosted and managed services, backend MVNO integration and life- cycle management of MVNO service offerings.

MINI-LINK AXR: Ericsson will spotlight its next-generation fixed wireless point-to-multipoint microwave radio system, supporting advanced packet switching functionality and a wide range of traffic interfaces in order to support Metro Ethernet as well as mobile standards.

ViPr(TM) Media Center: Ericsson's ViPr Media Center is a Session Initiation Protocol- (SIP) based video conferencing suite that delivers high-quality video telephony over a wide range of bandwidths and with standard telephone systems and legacy video conferencing systems.
