Ericsson wins contract with Vaasa Telephone Company for Ethernet DSL Broadband Access
The low cost of ownership, excellent scalability, non-blocking network architecture and the quality of enabling new, capacity demanding services are elements that make Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution a strong alternative to traditional ATM based solutions.
"We are pleased to see that a major Finnet company is using our technology in such an innovative way to create new services" says Janne Laitala, Sales Director of Ericsson Finland.
Vaasa Telephone Company has tested Television broadcast services based on IP multicast and Voice over IP solutions for a period of time. Ericsson's DSLAM solution, that fully supports multiple VLANs and Quality of Service, will now enable Vaasa Telephone Company to launch services based on new ADSL2 line coding techniques. This novel line-coding scheme gives untapped opportunity for Vaasa Telephone Company to offer enhanced bandwidth and extended reach to their customers.
Deliveries for this contract are already on the way.
