ERIKS helps young engineer from Prince’s Trust to awards night

ERIKS has taken on a young employee through The Prince’s Trust who has proved to be such a success that he has been nominated for an award.  Jordan Hopcraft, who joined ERIKS in Stoke-on-Trent during May 2012, has so impressed The Prince’s Trust that it has appointed him Area Representative. He has also been nominated for an achievement award, which is to be presented at Aston Villa football ground, Villa Park, in November.

The Prince’s Trust, founded by Prince Charles, provides mentoring support to build the confidence and motivation of disadvantaged young people. Through The Prince’s Trust, Jordan approached ERIKS and offered to work for free for a month.  Jordan proved himself quickly and was promptly offered a paid 6-month contract, which may soon be followed by permanent employment.

“The Prince’s Trust helped me with my CV and prepared me for the interview by building my confidence,” Jordan explained.  “Garry Waters, ERIKS’ Midlands Regional Manager, interviewed me and said he could see some potential and so he gave me a go.  Since then, things have gone very well.  A little while ago, I got a letter from The Prince’s Trust to tell me that I was one of 250 nominees for an award, then another to say I’d made the last thirty.  I’ve now made the last three so I’ll be going to the awards ceremony at Villa Park on November 22nd and if I win I’ll go to London to meet Prince Charles.”

ERIKS are delighted with Jordan’s success and believe that, whatever happens on the 22nd, he is already a winner.
