eScholar Delivers Latest Version of eScholar Complete Data Warehouse®
Updates Include Enhancements in Support of Teacher-Student Dashboards, CEDS, Staff Tenure, Data Opt-Out Policies, and Higher Education Degree Program Articulation Agreements
White Plains, NY – July 7, 2014 – eScholar, the leader in education data management solutions for personalized education, recently released version 16 of the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse® (CDW). With eight states already leveraging the solution to power their statewide longitudinal data system (SLDS), the eScholar CDW is the leading platform supporting data-driven decision making in education. eScholar CDW v16 extends that leadership with enhancements in support of education data standards including the U.S. Department of Education’s Common Education Data Standards (CEDS), enhanced support for teacher-student dashboards, including those offered by the Ed-Fi® Alliance, support for tracking teacher pursuit and achievement of tenure in any number of tenure areas, and support for implementation of data opt-out policies, among other enhancements.
The eScholar CDW is designed to integrate isolated data across the enterprise, while enforcing the myriad of data quality rules unique to each state and local education agency to ensure data is accurate and reliable. Once the data is integrated into the eScholar CDW, it can be analyzed and visualized both longitudinally and comprehensively to inform the decisions of various stakeholders, provide insight into educational programs and improve student outcomes.
“With each product release, the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse expands the scope, breadth and depth of information that can be integrated and analyzed to provide a complete picture to all stakeholders,” said Russ Redgate, Product Manager of the eScholar CDW. “We are particularly proud of the enhanced data quality interface we have embedded into version 16, enabling customers to create their own truly unique data quality rules and to change and add rules as their agency and legislative mandates evolve over time. This enables our customers to scale and remain effective even as agency objectives and mandates change.”

- Enhancements supporting the most robust, flexible, configurable data quality capability available

Data Warehousing in Education
Schools, school districts, and other local education agencies including charter schools and state education agencies collect pertinent information from multiple sources to drive instruction and meet specific federal and state-level requirements. The information collected ranges from student attendance and enrollment records to class grades and credits, program participation and funding, testing, staff assignments and certifications, professional development, budgets, and more. An education data warehouse integrates and consolidates this information, which would otherwise be dispersed across the enterprise – ensuring data integrity and applying data quality and validation checks to preserve confidence in the reliability of the data. It also feeds the information to data-driven applications such as analysis and reporting tools and data dashboards used by all education stakeholders, including administrators at all levels, teachers, counselors, support staff, students, parents, and legislators.
About the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse Solution
The eScholar Complete Data Warehouse® Solution is the most widely used COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) software solution for gathering and managing Pre-Kindergarten through postsecondary educational data, providing a true COTS P-20 SLDS platform. Once loaded into the eScholar CDW, the integrated data forms a longitudinal history that can provide valuable insights into student achievement, educational programs, and effective teaching techniques. The eScholar CDW’s comprehensive, detailed and longitudinal structure is crucial to the analysis demanded by local and state educators who want to foster a data-driven decision-making environment and meet evolving Federal and State reporting requirements.
