The global esports company Epulze, based in Örebro, is succeeding with new ventures in Latin America and Southeast Asia. The company's esports platform has grown steadily in recent years. Epulze is also showing strong growth in the company's two other verticals, professional tournaments and events, and a broadcasting studio for esports.

"The focus on developing these verticals has borne fruit. We can see that our verticals have strong synergies. The system is designed to generate revenue through sponsor sales at the pro events while driving traffic to our scalable esports platform," says Markus Lövgren, co-founder and CSO.

By the end of 2022, the game developer Valve (Dota 2, CS:GO etc.) selected the company to organize several events directly connected to the official world championship in Dota 2. Epulze has, among other things, organized Southeast Asia's Dota Pro Circuit and co-organized South America's first Dota 2 Major with a prize pool of $500,000.

Despite recent challenges in the tech world, the company has already in the first quarter of 2023 signed agreements for sponsorship and broadcast rights of just over SEK 40 million, roughly tenfold last year's turnover. There is also a substantial increase in viewers of the company's live broadcasts. During the first quarter of the year alone, the English Twitch channel has already reached over two million unique viewers.

"The exposure our brand and gaming platform gets during these pro events is invaluable. Those who watch the broadcasts are usually our best customers. It will be exciting to see the growth of players when we expand the events across more games," says Pontus Lövgren, co-founder and Head of Events and Partnerships.

The company has already started securing sponsors for next year's pro event and is working simultaneously to expand the event section to several game titles.

"Our professional events and the broadcasting studio are designed to drive traffic and be individually profitable on their own. The professional events are our best marketing, and few companies can first make money from B2B to build up even greater B2C revenue," says Mattias Lövgren, cofounder and CEO.

Epulze took in 57 million in venture capital in 2021 and intends to close a final capital round in the second quarter of 2023.

"We have found our niche. Our focus and hard work have paid off. We are working to continue delivering from the events while we are gearing up the platform development," concludes Mattias.
