Luxury Hotel Trio Team Up To Create Ultimate Winter-Sun Getaway
South Africa’s Finest Combine Three Exclusive Experiences In One Decadent New Escape
Three of South Africa’s most exclusive resorts and lodges have teamed up to create the ultimate winter-sun escape. The new South Africa Sensations package, which combines three of the country’s top attractions; Cape Town, The Garden Route and The Kruger National Park, offers travellers the chance to experience three wholly diverse, yet equally fascinating, sides of South Africa, all in the same holiday.
The British winter period is the perfect time to experience summer in South Africa, when the temperatures are balmy, the restaurant scene is buzzing, the beaches and landscapes are at their most beautiful and the local wildlife is out to play. Available from October 2013 until end March 2014, this 12-night, three-centre holiday offers sun-seekers the chance to combine a luxury, boutique, Cape Town retreat, Steenberg, and a “Garden Route” resort, Fancourt with the thrill of a safari at Garonga near the acclaimed Kruger National Park.
Steenberg holds the distinction of being the oldest farm in the picturesque Constantia valley, with a history dating back to the first wine production in 1695. The 24-room hotel and vineyard, which is just twenty minutes from Cape Town's V&A Waterfront and the city centre, boasts a daytime restaurant, “Bistro Sixteen82”; a contemporary, fine dining restaurant, “Catharina’s” which offers spectacular views of False Bay & the Steenberg Mountains; a Ginkgo Spa, working winery and an 18-hole Championship golf course.
Fancourt is situated in the heart the “Garden Route”, just seven kilometres from George Airport and the historic town of George. The resort is superbly landscaped on 613 hectares of lush countryside with the majestic Outeniqua Mountains as the perfect backdrop. Fancourt offers 115 rooms on the resort as well as the exclusive “Manor House” boutique accommodation, which features 18 luxury suites offering personalised, butler-style service.
Located in the Makalali Conservancy near the Kruger National Park, the Garonga Safari Camp offers a “safari for the soul”. Featuring six billowing Moorish-style tented suites with four poster beds, outdoor showers and private hammocks, Garonga offers a relaxed, intimate and unhurried approach to a safari. Guests can choose to enjoy the wildlife from their private hammock or from the cool depths of the infinity pool but most opt to join the twice daily guided safari game drives and walks in this pristine wilderness which is home to four of the Big 5 (no buffalo).
Prices for the South Africa Sensations package start from £3,990 per person, which represents a saving of £250 per person. The price is based on two people sharing a double or twin room and includes return flights from London; domestic flights in South Africa; four nights’ accommodation at Steenberg in a standard luxury room with breakfast; three nights at Fancourt’s Manor House in a luxury suite with breakfast; car hire with comprehensive insurance and unlimited mileage whilst in Cape Town and along the Garden Route; and five nights at Garonga including all meals, tea/coffees, all local drinks, game drives, bush walks, sleep out excursions, bush bath, laundry and return airport transfers.
The package can be booked via Rainbow Tours (020 7666 1250, info@rainbowtours.co.uk or www.rainbowtours.co.uk).
