The ringside seats just got even better! Popular Mara Serena Safari Lodge in Kenya gets a make-over
We are delighted to confirm that the first phase of the Mara Serena Safari Lodge refurbishment program that started in February 2012 is progressing well and that Serena is very proud to have not had a single complaint from guests during this time by ensuring that disruption to services was minimal and work was limited to when guests were out on game drives.
The first phase of the refurbishment is scheduled for completion in December 2012 and will include new public areas, reception, guest shop as well as a comfortable Bar Lounge and fantastic new Maisha Spa.
The second phase of the refurbishment started in October and will include the construction of new extended food and beverage facilities and new furniture, fixtures and equipment. This will be completed by June 2013. While the new dining room is being built, guests will enjoy meals under canvas (but fully protected to cater for all weather conditions).
Located at the very centre of the famous ‘Mara Triangle' of the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge enjoys the ultimate ringside seat to the ‘greatest wildlife show on earth', the legendary migration of the wildebeest. Set high on a bush-cloaked hill with long views over the savannah and down to the winding coils of the hippo-filled Mara River, it stands centre-stage to one of Africa's most dramatic wildlife arenas, as more than one million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles cross seven hundred miles to new grazing lands in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
