The technology service company Etteplan invests in industrial digitalization and strengthens its smart factory offering. Based on a 30-year track record of serving industrial manufacturing companies, Etteplan now brings together the latest technologies and proven solutions to renew traditional manufacturing processes and plants. Johan Ehrnrooth, a seasoned industry leader, has been appointed at the helm of the new operations.

As a system and process integrator, Etteplan supports organizations in understanding, deploying, and leveraging new and emerging digital and technological opportunities in their plants, mills, and factories. The company has invested heavily in the field of industrial digitalization and now offers a complete range of services and solutions under the new Smart Factory portfolio. The offering ranges from single point solutions to complete solution-independent integration of an existing or planned factory.

“Digital transformation is picking up speed within industrial manufacturing. A clear sign of this development is the rapid growth in investments in the Internet of Things - the combination of intelligent machines, equipment, people and processes. To respond to this increasing market need, we have built a unique set of capabilities to help our customers digitalize their plants and operations. Etteplan’s new Smart Factory offering ranges from process engineering to piping and automation engineering, software design and technical documentation”, says Juha Näkki, President and CEO of Etteplan.

Johan Ehrnrooth will lead the global ramp-up of Etteplan’s smart factory offering as well as Etteplan’s plant engineering operations in Finland. Prior to joining Etteplan, he has held various key positions in this field. His extensive experience in engineering and management consulting will be valuable in his new role.

”Smart Factory is not a service but a process, and Etteplan has all the expertise and building blocks needed to take manufacturing companies – big and small – on that journey. I’m very much looking forward to working with Etteplan’s team of experts and clients”, Johan Ehrnrooth says.
