Etteplan receives Advanced Technology status in China

-  The status is given to companies that the local government regards as contributing the most to growing the knowledge base of Chinese companies.

Etteplan has received the Advanced Technology status for its operations in Kunshan, China. The status, given by Suzhou Municipal People’s Government, is valid from 2015 to 2018. The benefits of the status include a 15% company income tax instead of 25%, and the possibility to apply for government subsidies.

The overall goal of the status is to support companies to grow the knowledge base of Chinese companies. The status is granted to manufacturing and service companies which have a successful track record in Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO). Knowledge Process Outsourcing refers to the process, where a client company outsource knowledge intensive operations such as design engineering to a partner, who can thereby grow the knowledge base and help the client organization become more competitive.

Other criteria for Etteplan receiving the status include the proportion of offshore services in the offering, service quality, customer feedback and the high educational level of its engineers.

The Advanced Technology is given only to a handful of companies. Etteplan was one of the two companies to receive the Advanced Technology status in the region for the four-year-period starting in 2015.
