Etteplan strengthens its expertise in production solutions and acquires Tegema from the Netherlands

Etteplan is strengthening its production related competences and know-how by acquiring Tegema from the Netherlands. Tegema provides production solutions, production cells and equipment for customers in the field of semiconductors, electronics, mobility, photonics and medical.The acquisition is another step in Etteplan’s international growth and also marks the start for engineering services in the Netherlands. Previously Etteplan was offering services for technical documentation in the country.

Tegema will bring new service components to Etteplan. Tegema is a production system integrator specializing in customized precision mechanics and mechatronics. It combines this experience with the latest robotics, software and assembly technologies. 100 experts work for Tegema in Eindhoven and Arnhem. In 2019 the company’s revenue was approximately EUR 11 million. The parties have agreed not to publish the purchase price.

Combined with our existing know-how in production technologies, the acquisition strengthens our offering in this field and generates interesting growth potential”, says Etteplan’s President and CEO Juha Näkki.

After the acquisition Etteplan employs some 200 people in the Netherlands in five different locations. Etteplan first started its operations in the Netherlands in 2012 through the acquisition of Tedopress technical documentation business. In 2019 Etteplan strengthened its presence in the Netherlands by the acquisition of the technical documentation specialist Triview Technical Communication BV from Soesterberg.

“The acquisition of Tegema fits well with our strategy as our intention is to expand our full service offering to all our current markets. Entering engineering services in the Netherlands is an important step in this direction. Our target is that more than half of our revenue comes outside Finland by 2024”, Juha Näkki concludes.
