eTV first to sell tickets online via TV The interactive television channel eTV is the first channel in the world to start selling tickets online via the television. eTICKET is the name of the service, which sells tickets to all types of event all over Sweden. eTV's business partners are the major arenas and events organisers in Sweden, as well as the newly merged BiljettDirekt and Ticnet. The Globe Arena, Cirkus, Göta Lejon, Ullevi, Scandinavium, Nordic Artist and EMA Telstar are just some of the arenas and events organisers now selling their tickets via the television. Using the remote control, TV viewers can order everything from football match tickets to seats at the opera just by pressing a few buttons. Some 1,000 events can be searched for in the eTICKET booking service. "Our ambition is that event tickets to the Globe and our other arenas can be purchased easily, says Monika Larsson, Marketing Manager Globe Arena. With eTV we can use the latest technique and in yet another way reach our customers. When the use of digital tv starts booming the Globe arena is already experienced in digital-tv! "You can order tickets while watching a taster from a preview on TV," says Bo Blåeldh, Managing Director of eTV. "The service is simple to use, while at the same time being the most technically advanced ever made." Orders are placed online directly in the ticket database, which handles over 90% of all ticket sales in Sweden. The TV viewer selects the type of event, city, date, price category and seat allocation, and receives confirmation of the booking directly on the TV screen.
