Europa Worldwide Logistics in Northampton has announced significant investment in its European services.

Europa, one of the UK’s largest independent transport companies, is now running a new daily service (five times a week) between the UK and Frankfurt as well as boosting its service to and from Grabica in Poland.  This is part of an ambitious route and service expansion for the business.

This news follows on from the Northampton team’s national award win for its successful work with online wine retailer Naked Wines.

Europa’s Northampton branch is based at Grange Park and employs a team of 40 who offer a single source of supply chain expertise. From its 85,000 sq foot office, it provides a multitude of warehousing and logistics services for blue chip customers including Norwich based Naked Wines.

Taking advantage of the booming German economy, the new Frankfurt connection will support Europa’s current daily service to Dusseldorf and is the latest in an ambitious route and service expansion across the continent. To deliver this new service, Europa is working with its existing, experienced partner INSA Transport, one of the leading German freight forwarders who are based in Frankfurt.

Germany is the third largest exporter and importer in the world, accounting for more than half of the European Union’s international trade. The total value of imports into Germany in 2012 was $1.276 trillion; value of exports was $1.492 trillion.

An enhanced service to and from Grabica in Poland is also now operating four times per week and Europa is working with its existing and very experienced partner ERONTRANS to deliver this. The service is operating both in and outbound to and from Europa’s existing southern hub in Erith.

Europa has been a market leader in European express freight services between the UK and Europe for over 40 years. Daily export and import services already operate to and from hubs in 31 Central and Eastern European and Scandinavian countries. The firm is expecting to add a number of additional routes and increase frequency in the near future.

Dan Cook, Europa’s Operations Director, commented “These latest investments demonstrate our commitment to enhance and improve our already extensive range of European road freight services. With this enhanced offering, we can now offer an ever better quality, more frequent service, giving customers a high level, cost effective solution within our network operations.”

When Europa was acquired last year its new owners pledged to invest.  Already two major projects to expand and grow the business have been announced, the branch network has been extended with a new office in Leeds plus a deal has been signed for a state-of-the-art 262,500 square foot (24,400 square meter) head office and South of England hub, at Prologis Park near Dartford.
