7 December 1999 Europolitan acquires Doberman AB Europolitan is strengthening its know-how within the development of Internet- related services through the acquisition of Internet agency, Doberman. "Doberman has considerable knowledge within the Internet and how it can be integrated with mobile telephony. The acquisition of Doberman will make us even stronger when it comes to developing new, personally tailored mobile information services," says Mikael Kluge, Vice President, Marketing, at Europolitan AB. Doberman is a digital communication agency geared to the Internet and mobile communication. The company is based in Karlskrona and employs seven people, five of which are partners in the company. Doberman and Europolitan have been working together for a couple of years. Amongst other things, Doberman has been involved in the development of Europolitan's Internet portal, www.europolitan.se. Europolitan is acquiring 80% of Doberman at SEK 8 million. The remaining 20% is being retained by the agency's existing owners, who will continue to work at the company. The acquisition of Doberman AB - the first of its kind for Europolitan - is a further step in Europolitan's quest to secure expertise within Internet- related services. In the autumn, Europolitan also signed collaboration agreements with various companies with know-how within areas including the Internet, telematics and WAP. "Doberman has the skills and experience we need to be able to keep our position as the world's leading operator for development within this field."
