Europolitan and Consafe Infotech sign WAP services agreement

PRESS RELEASE - Karlskrona 27 December 1999 Europolitan and Consafe Infotech sign WAP services agreement Europolitan and Consafe Infotech have entered a partnership agreement regulating the sale and development of mobile information solutions such as different WAP services. "This partnership agreement enables companies to create advanced, secure mobile information services," says Mikael Kluge, Vice President Marketing at Europolitan. The Europolitan and Consafe Infotech joint concept means that companies, organisations and authorities wanting to create mobile information services (like various WAP services, for example) can avoid doing so via the Internet. Instead, information can be mediated directly through Europolitan's GSM network and a company's intranet or extranet. The solution provides Europolitan's and Consafe Infotech's shared customers with a greater ability to control the spread and access of their information, meaning that they can create highly secure mobile information services within, for example, customer services, banking and transport. The partnership between Europolitan and Consafe Infotech also covers open solutions over the Internet. "The agreement means a closer partnership between Europolitan and Consafe Infotech, offering the market a broader range of mobile information services - solutions and services that can be tailored to the unique needs of each individual company. Today, shorter lead-times are needed from the idea to the finalised, operational solution, and our partnership offers a strong concept for this," says Stefan Nilsson, Consafe Infotech AB's Managing Director. Europolitan and Consafe Infotech already had an agreement regulating the development and sale of the joint Rapport Direkt concept - a solution enabling companies and organisations to securely send and receive large amounts of information directly to mobile phones via SMS.
