Europolitan and Kipling enter strategic partnership within positioning Europolitan and Kipling are deepening their collaboration within positioning. A new partnership agreement has been signed whereby, in an initial stage, Kipling will be upgrading MOTION, a positioning system for GSM. During the autumn 1999, Europolitan launched a GSM-based positioning service. The collaboration with Kipling is now enabling Europolitan to develop and refine geographic position based services. "Positioning via MOTION gives us major advantages and enables us to offer our customers flexible services based on different positioning solutions," says Magnus Forsband, Vice President, Engineering and Operations, at Europolitan. "Positioning is a high-priority area for us, and our efforts to develop personally tailored services for our customers within this field have been underway for some time. The collaboration agreement with Kipling is another step in the right direction," says Mikael Kluge, Vice President, Marketing, at Europolitan. The agreement also means that Europolitan will be assisting Kipling by acting as a reference client for international deals. "The fact that Kipling now has positioning platform supplier status is very important to Kipling's international expansion," says Gustaf Ekberg, President and CEO of Kipling.
