Europolitan and WM-data sign new co-operation agreement Europolitan and WM-data have signed a co-operation agreement for the development and sale of mobile information services and telematics. "With Europolitan's knowledge in mobile telephony and our know-how in IT- related services, we can now tailor package solutions which will generate considerable business advantages for our mutual customers, " says WM-data's President and CEO, Lars Harrysson. The agreement covers two areas. In the mobile information services area, the companies will jointly develop and market mobile-adapted information solutions for electronic commerce, banking, intranets and extranets. The two companies' solutions enable companies to send out information to their customers or employees - via a WAP telephone, for example, or a laptop with a GSM connection. In the telematics area, Europolitan and WM-data will be jointly developing services for alarms, supervision, operation and maintenance. Telematics is about wireless communication between machines and it is a rapidly growing market. Telematics enables companies to supervise machinery, alarm systems or vending machines using GSM technology. Europolitan and WM-data's joint solutions will be tailored to companies' individual needs and the systems they want to supervise. This means that operators can supervise their systems from their desktops, or from their WAP telephones if they are out and about.
