Europolitan strengthens its presence on the Internet and opens a home page for its Internet customers Europolitan is modernizing and strengthening its presence on the Internet with more web sites, including a special home page, where Internet customers can get news and the latest weather forecast from Swedish division of Yahoo!, as well as recommended links and other search-related information. During the year, the home page will be developed into a personal page that customers can tailor to get exactly the information they want and even get it delivered via their mobile phones. The hub of Europolitan's new Internet service is www.europolitan.se. From here, customers can go to various web sites, depending on their interests. "With a new structure and content, we can give customers even better service," says Mikael Kluge, Marketing Director at Europolitan. "But this is only the first step. The next step is to allow customers to make personal settings for the kind of information they want and then enable them to have it transferred to their mobile phones." From the main web site, customers can choose between 8 different websites to visit. At internet.europolitan.se, for example, customers can get the latest news and the weather forecast, courtesy of the Swedish Yahoo!. This site will function as a home page for Europolitan's Internet customers. During the year it will be developed into a personal home page that customers can tailor to get exactly the information they want. These are the other web sites: At info.europolitan.se mobile telephony customers can get information suited to their needs. Potential customers can, for example, send information about their calling habits and we will tell them which subscription would suit them best. Meanwhile, press.europolitan.se and investor.europolitan.se are web sites aimed at journalists and investors. And partner.europolitan.se is Europolitan's extranet, and has information for retailers with partnership agreements. This site requires a password. At jobb.europolitan.se there is information about job vacancies and what it's like working for Europolitan. Europolitan's mobile telephony customers can also visit vip.europolitan.se, a site developed exclusively for their needs. There are articles, games, a discussion forum, competitions and an online store with profiling products. This site requires that users enter a password. At kampanj.europolitan.se, there is a list of all of Europolitan's ongoing campaigns. "This is the first in a series of steps to integrate the Internet and mobile telephony. With the help of these two channels, we can get one step closer to our vision: delivering information that our customers want - anytime, anywhere" he says. "We will be presenting other new services during the year, using the Internet and mobile communication to deliver personally-adapted information to the customer." Another web site is due to be launched in May which will enable customers to make their own settings in the Europolitan's Internet service, europolitan@internet and get access to their e-mail using a regular Internet browser.
