Euroseek invests heavily in Internet subscriptions Euroseek is now investing heavily in Internet subscriptions and forming a new business area, Euroseek Access, which will include among others things the newly acquired company Infranet. Ulf Berglund, former managing director of Protect Data Konsult, will be business area manager. The Swedish company Euroseek (www.euroseek.com), with Internet services such as portals, search engine, information, entertainment, e-commerce and wireless broadband access, is now defining the different aspects of its operations by creating business areas. Infranet and Netpoint, which Euroseek acquired in March after a long series of structural transactions, will now be part of the business area Euroseek Access. Similarly, the portal with search engine, information, entertainment and e-commerce, will become a separate business area called euroseek.com. "What we want to clarify is that we are offering an integrated Internet service, that is, with both portal choice and connection to Internet. The Internet subscription part will also be an important generator of income for us," says Catherine Sahlgren, managing director of Euroseek. Euroseek Access will include different forms of Internet subscriptions - connection to Internet with different technologies and with different capacities. Euroseek Access will now mainly be offering Internet through wireless broadband connection via satellite or radio links, but also in combination with traditional broadband, i.e. underground fibres. It will also be offering connection to the net with capacities below the broadband speed, i.e. less than 2 Mbps. "We want to be able to offer what suits customers best, according to their prerequisites in relation to their geographical locations, closeness to satellite signals, radio links or fibres, and with the requisite capacity. And that can of course imply anything from 0.5 to 10 Mbps," says the newly appointed business area manager, Ulf Berglund. He continues, "The advantage of wireless broadband is that it's much quicker to install than traditional broadband. We will also be offering superior security through this technology, something that we know a lot of customers want." Ulf Berglund will be the new business area manager. He was previously the MD of Protect Data Konsult, a wholly owned subsidiary of Protect Data and listed on the OM Stockholm Stock Exchange's O-list. Euroseek is currently running an advertising campaign in Sweden to increase familiarity with Euroseek Access, and will also be expanding in most European countries with Internet subscriptions via Euroseek Access.
