Everdrone appoints Senior Medical Advisor to support continued expansion
Everdrone is strengthening its medical perspective by appointing specialist physician David Borkmann as Senior Medical Advisor. The appointment is a step in the company’s continued expansion in Sweden and Europe, where the need for medical expertise is growing in parallel with the development of new collaborations within emergency healthcare. The focus is on how drones can be used as an integrated tool in emergency medical care in both urban and rural settings.
“Healthcare needs to continue evolving with new technology that works in real-world conditions. Drones can become a natural complement in the emergency care pathway when minutes make a difference,” says David Borkmann, Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

David Borkmann, newly appointed Senior Medical Advisor at Everdrone.
David Borkmann is a specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine and is based at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where he also works within pre-hospital critical care. The unit is staffed by anaesthetists and specialist nurses and is dispatched to the most critically ill and injured patients in situations where advanced intensive care would otherwise have had to wait until arrival at the hospital.
In his role as Senior Medical Advisor to Everdrone, David Borkmann contributes a strong end-user perspective and expertise on how drone technology can enable additional medical applications within emergency care, such as the delivery of defibrillators, adrenaline, or bleeding control kits, adapted to different geographic and organizational conditions. He will also support Everdrone in the prioritization and evaluation of medical use cases, and contribute to dialogues with healthcare providers and decision-makers.
“In cases of cardiac arrest, the evidence is clear, early CPR and defibrillation save lives. In practice, however, there are still many barriers, such as distance, accessibility, and time. Everdrone has an operational technology that can overcome these barriers,” says David Borkmann.
In addition to his experience in Sweden, David has worked as an air ambulance physician in Australia and, over the past year, with London’s Air Ambulance, a highly specialized service focused on severe trauma in one of Europe’s most complex urban environments.
“David’s unique experience working both in dense urban areas and in sparsely populated regions gives him a broad understanding of how pre-hospital care can be developed with new technology. This expertise is particularly important as Everdrone now enters its next phase and scales its solutions to additional regions and healthcare systems,” says Magnus Hallberg von Geijer, Chief Commercial Officer at Everdrone.
The appointment strengthens Everdrone’s ambition to develop and scale solutions that contribute to shorter response times, improved accessibility, and ultimately more lives saved within emergency medical care.
