Everysport Media Group AB (publ) launches “Empower” - a gender equality initiative and organises “Empower Weekend”
Everysport Media Groups (“ESMG”) wholly owned subsidiary Every Padel launches “Empower”, a gender equality initiative aimed at contributing to a more gender-equal sports world. On 3-5 December 2021, Every Padel organises “Empower Weekend” in Every Padel Kopparlunden, Västerås. The goal is to inspire new generations to be able to shape their lives as individuals without the notions that gender is a limitation, with sport and paddle as the primary starting point.
In emerging countries as well as in paddle's home country, Spain, men dominate both at the entry-level and in the world elite. The vast majority of practitioners are men, and on the world's largest paddle tour, the prize money is significantly higher than what the female players are awarded.
The Empower initiative is about putting gender equality on top of the agenda, specifically in the sports world, whether it's about equal payroll, career opportunities, prize money or leadership.
"We gather the world's best female paddle players, elite players in Sweden, inspiring lecturers, as well as children and young people who both want to develop their game or try out the sport for the first time," says Malin Anderson, Head of Facilities Every Padel
“The event takes part in Sweden's leading paddle venues together with a number of key partners who are passionate about change in the same way as we are. In addition to fantastic paddle games, the weekend will be an arena for seminars, education and inspiration that is spread both locally and globally,” concludes Malin Anderson.
