Verdane partners with e-health company Evondos to improve home care of elderly in Nordics
SALO/OSLO – Verdane, the specialist Northern European growth equity investor, has announced its investment in Evondos, the Finland-based Nordic leader in automated medicine dispensing services for elderly home care clients. Patient safety and the well-documented reliability of Evondos’ automated medicine dispensing service for independent living and improved medical adherence have made Evondos the partner of choice for over 200 regions and municipalities. Its growth partnership with Verdane aims to develop Evondos’ service offering and extend the company’s market leadership into Northern Europe.
“With less time spent on routine tasks like medicine dispensing, caregivers can spend a bigger part of their visit on much-needed social interactions with their clients. Clinical studies have proven very high medication adherence, around 99%, whilst significantly improving quality of life and independent living at home for seniors with chronic illnesses and weak cognitive skills. Improved medicine dispensing frees up resources that can be reallocated to parts of our welfare system that need more resources.” says Eetu Koski, CEO at Evondos. He adds: “With a market leading foothold in the Nordics, we are pleased to welcome Verdane onboard to help us expand internationally into Northern Europe.”
Evondos’ vision is to become the global leader in the automated medicine dispensing market. Based in Salo, Finland, Evondos is the Nordic market leader in developing automated medicine dispensing solutions and services. The superior reliability of its dispenser robot, which is capable of reading all multidose sachets in the Nordic market, has made Evondos the leader in its field. Founded in 2007, Evondos today has offices spread across Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark supporting over 200 municipal clients, safely distributing over 4 million doses to date. A significant part of the development plan is to further improve Evondos’ offering with added functionalities that improve service usability for clients and caregivers.
Evondos joins a roster of current and former Verdane e-health holdings that include Conscriptor, Sweden’s largest provider of medical transcription services; Max Manus, Scandinavia’s largest developer of speech recognition software for medical documentation; CRF Health, a provider of technology solutions for simplying global clinical trials; and CareTech, a developer of nurse call solutions for elderly and geriatric care.
“We are proud to partner with the best team in the Nordics when it comes to automated medicine dispensing. Evondos is playing a crucial role in improving the quality of life for home care clients and freeing up more time for direct care during home visits. We look forward to joining forces on Evondos’ journey to improve the lives of seniors across Northern Europe,” says Janne Holmia, Principal and responsible for the investment at Verdane.
