Clinical Director, County Health Partnerships, NHS: Improving the patient experience starts with giving patients control
eyeforpharma London: To really ensure patients are happy and compliant in their treatment, they must be allowed to actively contribute to building their treatment plans.
Pharmaceutical companies across the globe are currently striving to become more patient centric; add the value and build trust through putting the patient at the centre of their treatment. According to Dr Stephen Head, Clinical Director, County Health Partnerships and Practising GP, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, “a key part of this lies in improving patient and carer experiences”.
Currently, in what Dr Head describes as “an increasingly complex healthcare environment,” few patients really feel comfortable navigating their way through their treatment plans. Overwhelmingly, according to Dr Head, the patient journey is “stressful” and less than accessible.
To help patients feel more comfortable and equipped to design their own treatment plan, Dr Head advocates “a more ‘user friendly’ decision making process”.
Dr Stephen Head will be sharing his techniques for improving the patient experience and maximising patient engagement in eyeforpharma’s webinar on 19 February at 3pm CET, click here for more information: http://www.eyeforpharma.com/patient/webinar.php
