The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), the major TV and Radio broadcaster in Norway, is extending its broadcasting of DAB radio services to four new regions in Norway. Factum Electronics AB, a subsidiary of Effnet Holding AB and a leading supplier of DAB/DMB systems, has strengthened its already strong market position by delivering equipment for this extension in stiff competition. The equipment supplied by Factum Electronics will include audio encoders, data broadcasting servers, ensemble multiplexers, management systems, and redundancy switches as well as a training program. “"DAB/DMB by Factum" is an established concept for user-friendly and flexible systems. Factum is not only offering the solutions to digital challenges, we are setting the standards and are leading the way for the new kind of radio,” says Kenneth Lundgren, Managing Director, Factum Electronics AB. Factum Electronics has previously delivered similar solutions to broadcasters worldwide. So far this year, Factum Electronics has also taken part in several DAB/DMB tests around the world including test runs for T-DMB broadcasting during the FIFA World Cup in Germany, T-DMB trials in Denmark and a DAB-IP/T-DMB trial in the UK. “We are very pleased to receive this repeat order from NRK. It is encouraging to note that both our Scandinavian neighbours, Denmark and Norway, are rolling out their DAB networks.” concludes Hans Runesten, Chairman of Factum Electronics AB and CEO of Effnet Holding AB.
