Skanska Installation has chosen Fagerhult as the main supplier of lighting for the New Karolinska Solna project (NKS). NKS is a new university hospital and the largest project ever by the Stockholm County Council. It is also one of the largest and most innovative healthcare projects worldwide. The majority of the lighting will be LED since the customer has high demands on energy efficiency.

- This is a breakthrough for LED in larger projects, says Frank Augustsson who is managing director for Fagerhult Sweden. As the main supplier, Fagerhult will deliver nine miles of recessed Notor LED. Other luminaries included in the order are Pleiad G3, Hydro, Multilume and MultiFive T5.

New Karolinska Solna will integrate patient care, research and education for future progress in research. The motto in the development of the new hospital is “patient first.” That will be executed through investments in stimulating environments for staff and patients, patient safety and security. The hospital will also be very energy efficient and characterized by a focus on the environment and sustainability.

- It’s very inspiring to work with New Karolinska Solna. Their long term perspectives such as energy efficiency and sustainability are also core values in Fagerhult’s business. Through our own research we know how humans react to lighting and we have the knowledge to tailor make light. Thus, we can both inspire and make people feel better and perform better, says Frank Augustsson.

Fagerhults Sweden has exhibitions in Stockholm, Habo and Malmö.
