UN Women are calling for an equal future, with healthcare services that respond to the needs of all women. LactaHub is answering with a resource to help health professionals meet the specific needs of lactating and breastfeeding women in their daily work: LactaMedia A Clinical Image Collection.

LactaMedia is an emerging, open access collection of educational photos and videos appropriate for training, presenting and assisting patients.

We invite you to visit at its new home on the LactaHub knowledge platform (www.LactaMedia.org) where you will find:

  • 100-plus photos and 12 videos of lactating women, in some cases with their breastfeeding infants.

  • Images depict specific topics – for instance, breastfeeding positions and challenges, breast variations, stages of breastmilk or anatomical challenges of mother or baby.

  • Each image has been reviewed and approved by an IBCLC and is appropriate use when training, presenting or consulting breastfeeding mothers.

LactaMedia is being compiled with gratitude to lactation consultants, midwives, nurses, doctors, mothers and families. The goal is to curate a robust resource, rich with contributions that reflect communities around the globe.

Would you care to help? If you are a health professional who works with lactating mothers and their infants and are interested in contributing or offering feedback, please contact media@lactahub.org.

Thank you very much!
