Felix Schoeller Photo Award 2017: Submission deadline is 31st May 2017
Osnabrueck, 9th May 2017
The submission deadline for the third international Felix Schoeller Photo Award is closing on the 31st of May 2017. At the end of May, after five months of submissions, one of the most prestigious photo contests for professional photographers in the German-speaking world, with 25,000 € total prize money up for grabs, is moving into the judging stage. Already at the half-way point in the middle of March, there was shaping up to be a record level of participation. The jury will probably have to judge twice the amount of works from over 80 countries. Even during the third call for submissions, numerous winners of other renowned international awards once again submitted their works to the contest run by the Osnabrück-based photo paper manufacturer, steeped in tradition.
An important contest for emerging talent.
The Award for Emerging Talent is an essential part of the Felix Schoeller Photo Award. Students of photography and training photographers from all over the world have the chance to be recognised in the professional sphere through their submission in various ways. One of these ways is through the almost three-month long exhibition in the cultural history museum in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, showcasing the nominees and winners works. Another is through the portrayal of the event in the international media, including the prestigious British Journal of Photography, with over one million readers in print and online. The prize winners of the Award for Emerging Talent can look forward to a cheque to the amount of 5,000 EUR, that will be written up by camera manufacturer Olympus.
The submission deadline: 31.05.2017, 00:00 o’clock.
As usual, the organiser will not grant any extensions to the submission deadline. Due to past experiences and an enormously increased number of registrations, it is recommended, if possible, not to upload the works to be submitted in the final hours of the 31st of May. Submitting early makes the process of turning in considerably easier.
