Osnabrück, 23. September 2014

The first Felix Schoeller Photo Award attracted 1,300 entries. A large number of these can now be seen in a film showcasing the impressive photos intercut with interviews with the five members of the jury and snippets from the jury sessions. The film about this international competition for professional and emerging photographers, launched by the Osnabrück-based Felix Schoeller Group, can be viewed at http://felix-schoeller-photoaward.com/en

What does the jury say about the competition? What surprised them the most in the five categories – portrait, landscape/nature, architecture/industry, photojournalism/editorial photography, free choice/conceptual photography? What impressed them the most? Internationally renowned portrait photographer and chair of the jury Michael Dannenmann, Ellen Dietrich, head of photography at the Hamburg-based Die Zeit weekly newspaper, Thomas Gerwers, co-publisher and editor-in-chief of ProfiFoto magazine, Werner Lippert, director of the NRW-Forum in Düsseldorf, and Jörg Winde, photography professor and vice-dean of the design faculty at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, talk on camera, giving interesting insights into the work of the jury.
