Olympus announced as new sponsor of the Emerging Photographer Award in the 2017 Felix Schoeller Photo Award
PRESS RELEASE
Osnabrueck, 12 December 2016
The Felix Schoeller Photo Award is pleased to welcome a new partner: Olympus Deutschland GmbH is the new sponsor for the Emerging Photographer Award in the next awards ceremony. The agreement was signed by both parties at the start of December 2016, with Olympus reiterating its commitment to its strategy of putting its target audience of professional photographers, and especially up-and-coming talents, in the spotlight, with the parties committing to work together for an initial period of two years.
A commitment to promoting new professional talent
Olaf Kreuter, Head of Consumer Marketing for Germany and Austria in Olympus Deutschland GmbH’s Consumer Products Division, is firmly convinced that the new collaboration agreement with the Felix Schoeller Photo Award will be a success. A particular impetus behind this commitment was the company’s desire to support up-and-coming talent: “This gives us direct access to our target audience for tomorrow: young, creative photographers, who are open to new experiences, who follow unconventional paths, and who are therefore open to new concepts in terms of equipment. The Felix Schoeller Award is therefore the ideal platform for us to present our product range to professional photographers. It’s a partnership of equals that we are delighted to be entering into,” said Mr. Kreuter. Dr. Friederike Texter, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Schoeller Technocell GmbH & Co. KG, assessed the new partnership with Olympus as a positive result for the Award: “The Award has already built a really positive reputation after just two previous rounds, and it’s clear evidence that we are on the right track: photographers openly give us feedback that’s often very positive, and frequently do so in a very personal manner. The standard of the work that is submitted is also very high.
And now, we have successfully worked with Olympus to get the partnership up and running in a quick and innovative way. With Olympus, we now have the pleasure of welcoming an internationally renowned camera manufacturer to our list of partners.” Both partners emphasized that the collaboration will also include working together on communications to promote the Award.
