Fennovoima proceeding towards signing the plant supply contract

The 60 shareholders of Voimaosakeyhtiö SF have decided about their continuation in Fennovoima nuclear power plant project. The shareholders responded to the investment decision proposal given for them in early September, aiming at starting the operation of the nuclear power plant in Pyhäjoki in 2024.

At the moment, Voimaosakeyhtiö SF owns Fennovoima completely. 45 of the shareholders of Voimaosakeyhtiö SF have decided to continue in Fennovoima. All decisions are conditional for the time being, as the negotiations between Fennovoima and Rosatom are ongoing.

As the result of these decisions, 84 per cent of the energy production of the Fennovoima's nuclear power plant is now reserved. The Voimaosakeyhtiö SF shareholder companies that continue in the project have reserved slightly over half (50,28%) of the production of the 1200 MW nuclear power plant planned by Fennovoima. The planned ownership of Rosatom is a third (34%) of Fennovoima.

Companies that decided to continue in the project are: Alajärven Sähkö Oy, Haminan Energia Oy, Haukiputaan Sähköosuuskunta, Oy Herrfors Ab, Imatran Seudun Sähkö Oy, Jylhän Sähköosuuskunta, Keminmaan Energia Oy, Keravan Energia Oy, Keskusosuuskunta Oulun Seudun Sähkö, Kestra Kiinteistöpalvelut Oy, Koillis-Satakunnan Sähkö Oy, Kokemäen Sähkö Oy, Kruunupyyn Sähkölaitos, KSS Energia Oy, Kuoreveden Sähkö Oy, Köyliön-Säkylän Sähkö Oy, Lahti Energia Oy, Lammaisten Energia Oy, Lehtimäen Sähkö Oy, Myllyn Paras Oy, Mäntsälän Sähkö Oy, Naantalin Energia Oy, Nurmijärven Sähkö Oy, Outokumpu Oyj, Paneliankosken Voima Oy, Parikkalan Valo Oy, Pietarsaaren Energialaitos, Porvoon Energia Oy, Raahen Energia Oy, Rantakairan Sähkö Oy, Rauman Energia Oy, Rautaruukki Oyj, Sallila Energia Oy, Seinäjoen Energia Oy, Talvivaaran Kaivososakeyhtiö Oyj, Tornion Energia Oy, Oy Turku Energia Ab, Uudenkaarlepyyn Voimalaitos, Valio Oy, Valkeakosken Energia Oy, Vantaan Energia Oy, Vatajankosken Sähkö Oy, Vetelin Sähkölaitos Oy, VSV-Energiapalvelu Oy and Ääneseudun Energia Oy.

Companies that decided to give up their share are: Oy AGA Ab, Boliden Harjavalta Oy, Boliden Kokkola Oy, Componenta Oyj, Esse Elektro-Kraft Ab, Etelä-Savon Energia Oy, Finnfoam Oy (4Capes Oy), Itä-Lapin Energia Oy, Kemin Energia Oy, Kotkan Energia Oy, Ovako Imatra Oy Ab, Rovakairan Tuotanto Oy, Tammisaaren Energia, Vaasan Sähkö Oy and Vimpelin Voima Oy.

During the next weeks and months Voimaosakeyhtiö SF carries out internally ownership rearrangements: some of the shareholders that decided to continue want to increase their share, some want to decrease it. Voimaosakeyhtiö SF is also assessing taking possible new owners to the project. The Finnish company Voimaosakeyhtiö SF will remain the main owner of Fennovoima.
