Fidesmo and Mondaine bring tokenization wearable payments to Switzerland
The Swedish tech company Fidesmo enters the Swiss contactless payment market together with Mondaine and the Mondaine PayChip™ 2.0.
Providing the tokenization payment service Fidesmo Pay, Fidesmo now enters the wearable payment market together with leading Swiss watch brand Mondaine. Fidesmo Pay enables payment cards from several banks to be securely tokenized onto the Mondaine PayChip™ 2.0, making it possible to tap and pay at any contactless payment terminal. Mondaine offers the PayChip™ 2.0 with Fidesmo Pay technology with numerous watch models from the Mondaine SBB and Mondaine Helvetica collections.

We chose Fidesmo as they are the most forward thinking provider in our view. The Mondaine paychip is unique, as it allows the consumers to easily remove the sim-card sized chip from the strap, insert it to the special loop so that it can be fitted to many other watches. Unlike all other watches which got the chip firmly built into the strap or watch, consumers now can have their contactless chip on the wrist, almost independently of the watch they feel like using, says Andre Bernheim, President of the Board of Mondaine Watch.
