Fidesmo is now integrated in the new standard for public transport ticketing by Samtrafiken
Stockholm, 23rd October 2019 - The possibility for more ID-bearers in Swedish public transport now opens up as Fidesmo integrates into Samtrafiken’s new BoB- standard.
Fidesmo is now fully integrated into the new Samtrafiken standard for Swedish public transport ticketing (also known as BoB). The role of the tech company in the BoB- ecosystem is to make it possible to integrate bearers provided by third parties in a secure, user friendly and quality proven way. Thanks to the integration, all bearers that connect with Fidesmo can be part of a ticketing system based on the BoB-standard. This means that each Swedish PTO, through a smaller integration, can make it possible for their travellers to use other ID-bearers than local cards when travelling.
Samtrafiken and Fidesmo have entered a cooperation agreement until the end of June 2020 to test this third-party solution. All PTOs are free to join the project.
- We welcome this collaboration, which will contribute to our efforts to make public transport smoother and easier to use, says Johan Hammar, Business Solution Owner of Ticketing Standards at Samtrafiken. The technology used will be based on the latest specification for ID-based travel according to the industry's Ticket and Payment Standard, BoB.
- Being a part of the Swedish future public transport systems has been in Fidesmo’s vision ever since the company was founded. Thanks to BoB as an open and flexible standard with a clear ecosystem in mind, that possibility has now opened up, says Mattias Eld, CEO at Fidesmo.
Fidesmo-enabled products which can also be used as bearers in the BoB ecosystem include watches from Ur&Penn, TRIWA and Berg Watches, along with cards for different access control systems.
