3 North American forging steel manufacturers unite as Finkl Steel
CHICAGO (April 9, 2015) — A. Finkl & Sons, Composite Forgings and Sorel Forge announced today that they are uniting to form Finkl Steel, a subsidiary of the Schmolz + Bickenbach Group. This change equips the new company with improved manufacturing efficiencies, increased product availability and an enhanced global presence.
“By combining three strong independent businesses into one, Finkl Steel leverages the strengths of each to provide better customer service and product availability, making us more competitive worldwide,” said Mark Shirley, CEO of Finkl Steel. “We believe that we are stronger together, and we will bring our customers more value as a result.”
The newly formed Finkl Steel has 18 metallurgists on staff and extensive expertise and technological capabilities, with manufacturing facilities in Chicago, Detroit and Quebec. The three complementary plants enable Finkl Steel to offer broader product solutions to its customer base as well as best-in-class lead times and delivery performance.
“Finkl, Composite and Sorel have long histories of offering superior-quality product and service, and by combining forces we further strengthen our commitment to being the best in the industry,” added Shirley.
