Electrolube Launch Electronics Protection Solutions in India
Protection of electronics is a large design concern, particularly if electronic equipment is to be deployed in aggressive environments or demanding climatic conditions. Electrolube, the solutions provider of electro-chemicals, will launch a range of complete protection solutions for electronics manufacturers in India this month following a surge in demand for the company’s thermal management products for LED manufacturers. Conformal coatings will include modified, unique silicone solutions, formulated to meet the highest defence standards in both Europe and the United States. These incorporate the transparent DCA, red opaque DCR and black opaque DCB for camouflaging circuitry. DCB and DCR are resistant to most solvents, lubricants and chemicals associated largely with aerospace and automotive applications, and give excellent adhesion under all climatic conditions, including high altitude and decompression. The fast drying, transparent and flexible acrylic coating, APL, is formulated for many of today’s commercial applications and will also feature at the EFY Expo held in New Delhi, on the 20th- 22nd February.
Electrolube’s optically clear encapsulation resins, SC3001 and UR5562, are specifically designed to solve a variety of challenges facing the LED industry. UR5562 is a semi-rigid optically clear polyurethane resin, ideal for use in decorative and protective applications, and due to a carefully selected blend of components, achieves an extremely durable, low viscosity system for a wide variety of applications. The low viscosity SC3001 is a flexible silicone two-part potting compound that helps to dissipate heat generated from LEDs. It also protects and insulates components from the threats of harsh and challenging environments such as moisture, chemicals and general contamination. The general-purpose, two part potting encapsulation resins, epoxy ER2188 and polyurethane UR5604, utilise a ‘clean’ flame retardant technology leading to relatively low toxicity fumes and low smoke emission. Designed for use with high temperatures and coloured black, ER2188 is ideal for use in transformer applications and UR5604 is suitable for driver and charge controller potting. The one-part epoxy resin system, ER2136, is a slightly thixotropic hot cure resin, designed specifically for use as a dipping resin for hybrid circuits and discrete components. The standard colour is blue but other colours are also available to special order.
Ron Jakeman, Managing Director of Electrolube, said, “Since opening our offices in Bangalore and a new warehouse in Bhiwandi, near Mumbai, we have experienced a vast upsurge in demand, particularly for our thermal management products. We are looking forward to meeting new and existing customers at the EFY Expo to demonstrate further solutions from our established core product groups and showcase the company’s chemical portfolio as a ‘complete package’ solution at all levels of production for electronics manufacturers in India.”
Electrolube will also debut pastes that provide the ultimate thermal management solution. The silicone HTSP and non-silicone HTCPX heat transfer compounds provide superior thermal conductivity even at high temperatures. These materials are electrically insulative to ensure that leakage currents cannot be formed if the paste should come into contact with other parts of the assembly. Designed to fill the gap between the device and the heat sink and reduce thermal resistance at the boundary between the two, the solvent-free RTV, TCOR, is low in odour and cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture. The silicone RTV can be applied around components such as capacitors and power resistors to dissipate excess heat to heat-sinks, avoiding any overheating and subsequent failures.
Electrolube will also feature ES808, one of the company’s new Surface Mount Adhesives that demonstrates high wet strength and good electrical characteristics. ES808 offers outstanding bonding performance of surface mounted devices to printed circuit boards prior to wave soldering. The adhesive offers excellent resistance against humidity and provides users with a cost effective solution and ease of use with its cartridge format, ideal for pin transfer and stencil print.
As an ISO 14001 qualified manufacturer of specialist chemical products supplying the world’s leading manufacturers of electronic, industrial and domestic devices, Electrolube is a trusted provider of high performance chemical solutions, formulated with the utmost responsibility to the environment and operator.
