Deposit returns raise over SEK 670,000 for children and nature

In 2025, guests at First Camp raised more than SEK 670,000 through refundable bottle and can deposits across the company’s Swedish destinations. This marks a new record for the initiative, with all proceeds donated in full to My Special Day (Min Stora Dag) and the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (Naturskyddsföreningen), this year’s designated beneficiaries. A small gesture with a big impact – for both children and nature.

The deposit collection initiative, carried out in partnership with Pantamera, is ongoing at nearly 50 First Camp destinations across Sweden, making it easy for guests to contribute – one can or bottle at a time.

It’s fantastic to see how our guests’ engagement translates into real impact. Through something as simple as returning deposit bottles and cans, we can help create joyful experiences for children while also protecting the natural environment that surrounds our destinations, says Ingela Lundkvist, Chief Commercial Officer at First Camp.

Looking ahead experiences for children and care for nature

In 2026, the funds raised through the deposit initiative will once again be shared equally between My Special Day and the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. My Special Day works to give children with serious illnesses and diagnoses the opportunity to experience joy and create meaningful memories. In addition to being one of the beneficiaries, First Camp will continue its engagement by hosting “Special Days” (Stora Dagar) for groups and camps at selected destinations.

For First Camp, protecting the natural surroundings of its operations is equally important. Together with the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, the dialogue continues on how environmental and sustainability topics – such as biodiversity and the “Operation: Save the Bees” campaign – can be integrated into the children’s club and other activities at the destinations.

The deposit collection initiative enables us to take a long-term approach to both social and environmental issues. In 2026, we will focus on turning this engagement into tangible activities at our destinations, with an emphasis on both experiences for children and increased awareness of biodiversity and nature, says Jenny Ell, ESG Manager at First Camp.
