Easter 2025 marked a record-breaking start to the camping season for First Camp, Scandinavia’s largest camping chain. The number of guest nights at Swedish destinations increased by more than 30 percent compared to the previous record year, 2022, when Easter also fell late in spring. Across the entire First Camp chain, guest nights rose by 26 percent. Despite mixed April weather, more people than ever chose to kick off the season with First Camp.

Even in uncertain global times, camping remains a strong choice, and we’re thrilled that this year’s first major holiday weekend attracted a record number of guests despite the unstable weather. We’re also seeing how our continued investments in both products and guest experience are driving demand. For this year, we’ve made significant upgrades to service buildings, mini-golf courses, and added new cabins and camping pitches” says Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp.

Affordable and Flexible

Cabin stays have become an especially popular option among families, who during the Easter weekend wanted to combine nature experiences with comfortable and budget-friendly accommodation. On comparable destinations, both cabin and camping nights rose by approximately 30 percent compared to Easter 2022 – a clear sign of strong and growing demand. For many, staying in a cabin is an affordable way to enjoy a holiday without compromising on experience.

Many First Camp destinations also offered Easter-themed activities such as egg hunts, crafts, and family games – something highly appreciated by both new and returning guests.

The strong increase in cabin bookings shows how camping is attracting a broader audience looking for an affordable way to holiday without sacrificing quality. With over 3,000 cabins across the First Camp network, we offer an unbeatable value alternative to options like package and charter holidays” says Johan Söör.

With a strong start behind us, an active spring season now awaits, along with a summer where many have already secured their favorite spots for long weekends and holidays. The easiest way to book your vacation is through First Camp’s website – the largest booking channel for camping and cabin accommodations in Scandinavia.
