Record revenues for First Camp in August
First Camp, the largest campsite chain in Scandinavia, reports record revenues in August. Total revenues for all destinations in First Camp increased by 12 percent vs. August 2019, i.e., pre-Covid-19.
The Scandinavian camping industry has been relatively mildly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic compared to many other travel industries. The reduction of international guests, due to travel restrictions, has to a large degree been compensated by more domestic campers. Many retailers of caravans and motor caravans report record sales and empty inventory.
For First Camp’s 40 destinations in Sweden and 6 in Danmark, demand has gradually increased during the summer and total revenues were up 12 procent in August, compared to August 2019, pro-forma. Looking at all summer months, June-August, revenues almost reached 2019 levels, only 4 percent lower.
”Overall the camping industry has had a strong summer, but also our investments to improve our product, our loyalty program and website have been well appreciated by our guests. For example, our low-fares calender, where campers easily find the lowest prices, has been one of the most visited pages on firstcamp.se during the summer. We’re very happy for the strong result in August and all employees in First Camp have really contributed,” says Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp.
These figures are for all of First Camp’s destinationer. The destinations owned by First Camp Group AB, which has a bond listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, saw an increase of 14 percent in August, and a decrease of 1 percent in June-August, compared to 2019.
