Fiskars appoints Patrick von Essen Vice President, Real Estate

Fiskars has appointed Patrick von Essen new Vice President and head of Real Estate as of September 3, 2012.Von Essen joins Fiskars from Neste Jacobs, where he is Vice President and head of Business Area Oil & Gas. Previously, he has held various management positions at Pöyry Group. As VP, Real Estate, von Essen will report directly to Fiskars President and CEO Kari Kauniskangas.

Fiskars previous head of Real Estate unit, Tomas Landers, decided to leave the company and focus on new challenges during spring 2012.

Fiskars Real Estate is responsible for managing properties in Fiskars Village and other locations, including the Group's production sites in Finland.  Fiskars Village, the company's birthplace, is easily the most well-known part of the Real Estate portfolio - and has become an internationally renowned centre of Finnish design and art, attracting around 150,000 visitors a year. Its history goes back to 1649 and today it offers visitors things to see and do all year round. The unit also develops Fiskars' 15,000 hectares of land and 3,700 hectares of water, the majority of which are located in and around Fiskars Village and on the Hankoniemi peninsula in Southern Finland.
