Fiskars recognized as the leading brand in its industry by Sustainable Brand Index study in Finland

Finnish consumers have evaluated Fiskars to be the most responsible brand in furniture, decoration and leisure industry according to Sustainable Brand Index study. The results of the study were launched April 8th, covering over 160 consumer brands across a variety of industries.

For the second time in a row, Fiskars has been awarded as an Industry Leader 2019 in the Sustainable Brand Index™, which is the largest brand study focusing on sustainability in Europe. Fiskars was also ranked number 8 among all the surveyed brands in Finland (174 brands in total).

“Sustainability is in the core of Fiskars Group, and we are extremely happy that consumers see Fiskars as a sustainable brand. We are proud of the fact that our products are relied upon from one generation to the next, as our aim is to create a positive, lasting impact on the quality of life”, says Marika Orkamo, SVP, Brand and Marketing at Fiskars Group.

Fiskars Group is constantly looking into new, sustainable solutions. For example, Fiskars has been promoting recycling in Finland for more than 10 years with recycling campaigns for old and used pans, pots and cutlery. In 2018, the campaign was extended to cover gardening products and to reach other European countries as well.

Fiskars is one of Fiskars Group’s brands. In addition to Fiskars, additional company’s brand, Iittala, was placed in the top 30 most sustainable brands in Finland.

The Sustainable Brand Index™ is the largest independent study focusing on sustainability in Europe, concluded since 2011. The study aims to spread and increase knowledge about sustainability. In 2019, altogether 50 000 respondents were interviewed. Of those, 10 300 were from Finland. The target group for the study was 16-70 years old in each country, the sample representing the population structure of each country. The interviews were concluded in January-March 2019.
