8 July 2010 Cameron House is officially named THE best hotel in the UK! Cameron House at Loch Lomond has been awarded Hotel of the Year 2010 at the prestigious Catey Awards – the Oscars of the UK’s hospitality industry. The awards which took place this week at London’s Grosvenor House hotel have become a byword for quality, class and achievement that everybody in the industry strive to win. Cameron House, operated by De Vere Hotels and Resorts, beat off competition from some of the most well respected and prestigious hotels across not only Scotland but England, Ireland and Wales. Following a £50million refurbishment in 2009 Cameron House operates as a 128 bedroom resort, boasting 115 lodges, The Carrick award winning spa, a PGA championship golf course, a 210 berth marina, and not to mention a fine dining restaurant headed by Michelin starred Chef Martin Wisharts. As part of the judging criteria the hotel had to demonstrate excellence in its chosen market, consistency of its product and service, and general success as a business. The Carrick Spa at Cameron House was also recently named Scottish Spa of the Year 2010.
