Swedish SaaS company Flowbox is growing – strengthens with new COO
Swedish SaaS company Flowbox is growing rapidly and recently raised SEK 80 million in venture capital. As a next step to continue its journey, Flowbox is now recruiting its first COO.
Flowbox was founded in 2016 and provides a platform that enables companies to collect and manage user-generated content, UGC, which customers create in social media. This content can then be used by companies in their own social and digital channels. Carl Larsson is now joining the company as a Chief Operations Officer to support the company’s CEO, Marcus Carloni, in operational matters as well as strategic decisions. In his new role, Carl will act as a link between the company and the investors, listen to the various departments of the organization to create a better structure and find new methods or solutions which can streamline and make the work more efficient.
“We’re proud and happy to welcome Carl to Flowbox. Currently, we’re in a phase where our company is expanding quickly. We’ve recently raised new capital and it’s extra important at this stage and under the current circumstances that we work efficiently and strive in the same direction. Carl has a broad understanding of the capital market with experience from investment banking in both public and private environments. His competence will be a valuable asset for us,” says Marcus Carloni.
Carl Larsson has previously worked with analysis of public companies and advisory in IPOs, private placements, and bond financing. In recent years, he has focused on the private sector specializing in traditional M&A, advising companies in preparation for capital raises and company sales to financial or strategical acquires.
“Flowbox has gained a strong momentum and I think the company has a good chance of becoming a market leader. The idea or concept of UGC emerged in the United States many years ago when the market wasn’t quite ready. I think we are seeing a second wave in the market driven by strong growth in e-commerce and social media taking a central stage in marketing. Marcus and the Flowbox team have been able to time this second wave well,” says Carl Larsson. He adds:
“It feels incredibly exciting to be part of the journey we’re now facing, especially since there are many possibilities to further develop Flowbox's product in several different areas. Instead of working with several different companies, I’m now excited about the challenge of taking on a more operational role and follow one and the same company in its journey ahead.”
Carl started his new position in February 2020.
