Reach Airports, a U.S.-based airport management joint venture between Munich Airport International and The Carlyle Group’s CAG Holdings, today named Ginger Evans as its Chief Executive Officer. Over the past three decades, Ms. Evans has successfully served in key leadership positions of government agencies and private firms within the aviation and transportation industry. Her unique background, coupled with her unparalleled expertise, will provide leadership to the new company which offers training, consulting and management services to the aviation sector in the US, Canada, Mexico and other OECD countries. At Reach Airports she will be responsible for the overall management of the company, business development serving the North American market, and partnerships with airport-related services firms.

“We are very happy to welcome Ginger on board. Her decades of experience in leadership positions, her extensive knowledge and her excellent network in the aviation industry make her the perfect fit for this important position. Together, we will drive our presence in the North American market and offer airports improvements in operations, management and customer service,” says Dr. Ralf Gaffal, Managing Director of Munich Airport International.

Ms. Evans has a longstanding and broad career in the aviation sector. She managed the master plan, environmental approvals, design and construction of Denver International Airport and was promoted to Director of Aviation. Ms. Evans worked at CH2M HILL as Chief Aviation Engineer before she became Principal for Transportation at Carter & Burgess. In this position, she established offices in New York and Washington, D.C. with clients such as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, American Airlines and United Airlines. Subsequently she held senior management positions at Parsons and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Most recently, Ms. Evans served as the Commissioner for the Chicago Department of Aviation where she negotiated agreements for $10.4bn of capital improvements at O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport. During her tenure, Chicago’s air connectivity was bolstered, making it the first American city to serve all six inhabited continents.

In addition, Ms. Evans sits on a number of boards – she currently serves on the technical committee of Ainda Energia & Infraestructura and the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board.

“We are very pleased that Ginger Evans, one of the preeminent names in aviation, is at the helm of Reach Airports,” shares Amit Rikhy. “We look forward to working with Ginger and her team to establish and grow Reach Airports in the North American market and beyond.”
