Shape Media chooses Foehn’s hosted telephony solution

London – 9 October 2012: Media sales recruitment consultancy, Shape Media, has chosen managed communications provider Foehn, to provide a hosted telephony service, delivering a cost-efficient and scalable platform with 24/7 communications. The Hosted VoIP Telephony system will also enable Shape Media to offer a professional consultancy service for its clients and candidates.
Set up by Ellie White in 2006, Shape Media is a boutique media sales recruitment consultancy that specialises in entry-level graduate recruitment in media sales. For 2012 they decided to give the company a next-generation makeover, which included an overhaul of the communications system.
One of Shape Media’s initial problems was relying on a legacy phone system to manage its communications. The company used to rely on its internet connection to manage client and candidate data and the phones to manage its voice calls. But there wasn’t a seamless integration of voice and data, and the phone system could no longer keep up with Shape Media’s increasing communication demands and growing business needs.
“The phone is the most important communication tool in our business and I needed a telephony solution that was completely scalable and flexible so it could grow as Shape Media grows,” Ellie said. “Effective communication is fundamental to media sales and I couldn’t afford not to upgrade. I was really impressed with the seamless performance of Foehn’s cloud-based communications platform. I don’t have any fixed-line costs or maintenance requirements so don’t have any extra bills, and Foehn takes care of all the IT support while I get on with the job of running the company.”
Because the telephony is hosted, Shape Media didn’t need any lines installed. Voice management features can be added as and when they like. “The great thing about a hosted VoIP telephony service is that there is no actual ‘install’ required,” explained James Passingham, MD and founder of Foehn. “All a customer needs is broadband with an IP handset or a Soft phone and so the set-up was quick and easy, allowing Shape Media to enjoy their new system and reap the benefits.”
