Grilling = Beer, Burgers and … Ketchup?

The folks at First Field Original Jersey Ketchup want to share these terrific recipes for any Memorial Day, Father's Day or 4th of July or summer grilling stories you may be currently working on.

Each seasonal and timely recipe uses First Field Jersey Ketchup: a sustainable, all natural, artisanal, gourmet product that exclusively incorporates the finest vine-ripened Jersey tomatoes

BeerMarinatedGlazedRibs

Ingredients:

2                racks pork spareribs

6                bottles beer

3                garlic cloves, minced

1                medium onion, thinly sliced

1/3 c.       seasoned salt

1 tbs.       pepper

1/3 c.       ground cumin

1/4 c.       Chile powder

4                jalapeno peppers, seeded and sliced

1/3 c.       Worcestershire sauce

1 tbs.       honey

2 c.           First Field Jersey Ketchup

Method:

In a saucepan large enough to hold the ribs, combine all the ingredients (except ribs) Bring to a boil

Immerse ribs into the hot liquid Bring back to a boil and lower heat Simmer for one hour

Turn off the heat and let the ribs cool in the cooking liquid

Marinate overnight

When ready to serve, lightly oil and preheat grill

Combine Worcestershire sauce, honey and ketchup in a bowl

Remove the ribs from the cooking liquid and pat dry

Brush both sides of the ribs with ketchup and place the ribs meat side down on the grill

Grill 5-6 minutes, each side, basting with glaze

Remove from the grill and serve immediately with barbecue sauce of choice (if needed) on the side

 

Mind-BlowingBarbecuedGazpachoBurgers

Ingredients:

1                red onion, chopped

1                red pepper, chopped

1                jalapeno or Serrano pepper, chopped

¼               English cucumber, chopped

5                cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

1/3 c.       tomato juice

½ tsp.      lime zest

3 tbs.       First Field Jersey Ketchup

2 lbs.        Ground beef

1/4 c.       Breadcrumbs Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Preheat an outdoor grill on high heat and lightly oil grate

Combine onion, peppers, garlic, cucumber, tomato juice and lime zest in a blender

Blend into a thick liquid

Incorporate ketchup into the mixture

Pour into a large bowl and add ground beef into the bowl

Add salt and pepper

Thoroughly mix together and set aside 10-15 minutes.

Gradually introduce breadcrumbs until the ground beef mixture is firm (add more breadcrumbs if needed) Form hamburger patties

Grill 3-4 minutes per side depending on rare or medium

 

PerfectPartyPastaSalad              

Ingredients for salad:

1 lb.           rotini pasta

5-6            scallions

3                large carrots, grated

2                yellow peppers, diced

½ c.          sliced almonds

Ingredients for dressing:

1 c.           sugar

1 tsp.       salt

1/2 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. dry mustard

2 tsp.       freshly grated onion

1/2 c.       organic cider vinegar

2/3 c.       First Field Jersey Ketchup

1 c.           light olive oil

 

Method:

Cook pasta according to directions on box

Combine vegetables and pasta in a large bowl

Combine all dressing ingredients in a blender until smooth

Pour dressing into the large bowl holding pasta and vegetables

Refrigerate overnight

Prior to serving, incorporate sliced almonds

Serve at room temperature
